Greetings in the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ. How was your Sunday yesterday? Did you have a wonderful day? Well mine was so blessed, yesterday’s worship was so beyond like wow, it was so great and the sermon as well was so hard hitting straight to the heart. You know after church service yesterday I really felt it deep in my heart I belong to God and I fit in serving Him by all means and I realized that knowing where you belong is powerful because it gives or confirms your exist like you don’t go around looking for places where you can feel accepted and loved and be able to be yourself. Actually, let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, king of kings today we welcome your presence among us and we ask in your name that Lord Jesus Christ reveal unto us about belonging so we can learn more from you. Holy spirit and be able to live a righteous life. Lord Jesus we Thank you in Jesus name Amen.
Ohk let’s continue, as I was saying that belonging is important it makes you feel accepted and loved and it confirms your existence and then affirms your logic, I’m saying this because when you’re accepted you’re able to be free and comfortable then when you’re loved in that group/community you’re able to flourish as a person then when your logic is affirmed you’re able to able to learn from others and correct some yourself there and there if there’s a need to. We are with certain groups of people because of how they make us feel like we really belong and we love and accept that feeling because it feels beautiful. The reason we are talking about this today is because many people are trying to fit like others, they want to feel something in them and close that gap or the void that’s inside them and that is to why we have so many young people who are grouping up just to have fun as they say.
Have you ever been in a situation whereby you’re at an event and you alone in that corner or table and you start looking for someone or group you can converse with so you don’t feel left out? Yes, when you were feeling like that you wanted to feel a sense of belonging and be able to share your logic with others. At some times you want to feel like that when you’re with your family and feel accepted and loved by them and when it’s like that you get to grow as a person. Or you have a group of friends who make you feel like that and end up spending more time with them because of how they make you feel.
So this festive season please don’t lose focus trying to fit in groups that don't align with who you are as a person Because who you spend your time with matters as they pour into you as you pour unto them.
Not everyone who accepts and loves you has good intentions for you as some will accept and love you for you that certain so they can be able to corrupt or infiltrate you, so such people will use every way possible to get to you.
Here's why it's important to belong:
• You will feel loved and accepted
• You're able to grow when you're loved and with that comes a time to flourish as this fulfills you inside
• The ability to express yourself is granted and welcomed
• You able to open and welcome others as it was done unto you
• Your logic and understanding are tested which gives room for mental growth
• Your life curiosity is answered and directed
• The feeling of belonging gives you comfort and joy
Those are just few reasons as to why it is important to belong, now imagine how it feels to belong to God with those reasons in mind, oh my, I kid you not those reasons become so amplified in such a way you see your whole life in a spectrum and that is the best.
Here's a task I'm living you with today, Go and check the environment which you belong and look If it aligns with your values and how does it make you feel.
Whiles we close with this verse for today
Matthew 6:9
”After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
We belong to Our God which we call him our father and He is responsible for us and we must adhere to his Commands as we do to our fathers.”
With that we say shalom and oh can't wait to go deeper in this topic of belonging, there's more I want to share with you.
Shalom.
