Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, on this day we call unto your great name, oh Lord Jesus, that may you once more open our eyes to the understanding that surpasses all knowledge as we present ourselves to your teachings so we may be aligned to your word and the perfect will, Father we thank you for all that you’ve done for us, for we have made it to this day because of you-Lord, we have no other Gods to bow down to. Only you alone are our God, Lord we thank you oh King Jesus, and we say Amen and Amen.
In the previous week we were talking about understanding life in the spirit as we said that “Life is spiritual, meaning that our lives are not just based on the physical realm that we live in but based on the spiritual realm. What does it mean when we say “life is spiritual”? well it means that life starts and ends in the spirit-anything that occurs in our lives starts firstly in the spirit then manifest into the physical, then this means that before we progress physically, we need to firstly progress spiritually” and we also touched base on how dreams play a major role which we often overlook, and we also said that “ the mind is a gateway to the spiritual and physical realm.
The Mind is a portal to both physical and spiritual realms and dreams are pathway/transportation to both of the realms hence we see things that are about to happen in our lives and sometimes we actually see what is happening in our dreams and we read the book of Gensis chapter 40 which gave us full extent of how dreams are part of our lives and how important they are, as we need to pay attention to them.
After we’ve understood the importance of dreams in our lives and knowing that our minds are a gateway to the spiritual and physical realm we therefor need to stay alert and active in prayer because there’s never a break in the kingdom of darkness against you and I- the devil is trying by all means to discourage us and to take us down but because God is on our side we are stronger than the devil. This means we need to focus more on prayer and holiness, yes holiness plays an important role in us and makes our prayers more effective, holiness isn’t just a word it’s a life style we need to live by as it also preaches to people who are watching us in the walk of Christianity. And most importantly our prayer life needs to be well maintained so we actually see results/fruits in prayer.
Your prayer life is made strong by discipline and having faith in God for we cannot approach God without faith nor can we please Him without faith. Faith is basically the fuel for our prayers and everything we believe in through God. Since our minds are a gate way to the spiritual realm and physical realm it will be easier to understand what we are about to touch on– as above so as below- this means what’s happening in the spirit also happens in the physical and this is so much true because from the book of Genesis we see God separating waters from above to waters below, look at the blue sky and look at the ocean, you’ll see its right Infront of our eyes.
Let me show you something in the book Daniel and Ephesians, we are told about the existing kingdoms and departments in the spirit, firstly let’s look at the book of Daneil in chapter 10 it says “20 So he said, “Do you know why I have come to you? Soon I will return to fight against the prince of Persia, and when I go, the prince of Greece will come; 21 but first I will tell you what is written in the Book of Truth. (No one supports me against them except Michael, your prince.” In this verse an angel makes mention of prince of Persia, meaning in the spiritual realm there are kings and rulers hence there is a prince and also places, locations and departments as much as we have them in the physical, this verse shows us that each and every location has a certain prince that’s fighting against children of God in that location and in Persia its where prayers and answers are kept captive and delayed in the spirit and not only that, there’s fierce battle happening in Persia as the angel states that he was fighting and needs to go back and fight in the battle with Micheal the angel.
So, in the physical we have presidents going down to councillors of each town and in some countries, we have kings and so forth so these systematic structures we use in the physical they are from the spiritual realm as we said “as above so as below “. these structures are real and they are operational as much as we use them in the physical- you see how direct you need to be when praying and another interesting thing said by the angel is that there’s a book of truth in the heavens like an actual book of truth that contains things to come, we will talk about the book of truth as we continue meeting in this website and in Spotify.
And now let’s look at the book of Ephesians 6:12” For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” You see what we talked about in terms of rulers and authorities, they are the ones mentioned when we read the book of Daneil chapter 10 and mind you the two books we read Daneil and Ephesians are years apart and not written by the same person who was led by the spirit of God as both authors were led by the spirit of God in different time zones and we must know that God’s spirit can lead us into many things when we obey.
So, knowing that the physical realm is structured in the same way as the spiritual realm is an advantage because we have the Holy spirit who will lead us into understanding more and will individually lead us to different times of prayer when we obey. And us knowing how the spiritual affects the physical is another advantage we can make us of it by targeting the spirit so the physical can be in order. And it will help us structure to structure our prayer and bible study methods. As above so as below- in the book of Matthew 16:19 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be[d] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be[e] loosed in heaven.” So when you actually bound something in prayer it will be bound in the heavens and if you release it-it will be release in the heavens so this basically means we’ve got the keys to heaven and earth to choose what we set free and what we can bound, in actual fact we’ve got the right and the powers to do it. So when you’re intentional with your prayers you will know what to do and will see results from your prayers.
Structured prayer life style is good because it disciplines you as a person and when you have discipline in your prayer life there will be more things that God will reveal to you either when you sleeping or when reading the word and a structured prayer life automatically gives you discernment and that’s a secret because some pray to have discernment whilst in its actuality it is obtained through constant structured prayer life, yes you can pray and ask God to give you discernment but you cannot pray once a day then expect to obtain/get discernment.
Remember discernment is the ability to sense what is of God and what is not of God through music, encounters with people, through conversations or through reading a certain document and sometimes you can discernment evil spirits that are ruling certain places or the spirit within a person, you see it’s like having super powers that only a few have. Yes I know you’re interested in knowing how to discern, well you have to fix your prayer and live in Holiness and have discipline in your prayer structure.
You can structure your prayer life by having firstly faith and discipline then set times to pray and when to study your bible also by listening to sermons that actually talk about prayer and how to pray, like be invested in it, let it be something that you really want so you can follow through it, by doing so you’re structuring your life in a way that you’ll see yourself grow. Once you grow spiritually you will automatically grow in other spheres of your life such as career, financial stability, growth in family relationships and because spiritual growth automatically brings forth in your life growth and the best part of it especially to us ladies you will glow – you know what I mean mmmm. And one of the things that come with a structured prayer life is obedience because if you’re obedient to the spirit of God then you’ll be obedient to your leaders or managers at work.
